Wolds Gliding Club is proud to offer opportunities to Duke of Edinburgh’s Award participants at Bronze, Silver and Gold level.
Skills - Learn to soar at Wolds Gliding Club
Get taught to fly an aircraft.
Learn to soar like a bird. (Stay up for ages!)
Learn to drive the retrieve buggies.
Help to launch and retrieve gliders.
Become part of a team.
Develop your interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate your responsibility.
Flying costs from £32 per visit*
Based on 3 winch launches with non-soaring flights. 3 flights are usually ‘enough’ when learning.
* All participants must hold a current club membership for the duration of the award period for insurance purposes. Membership prices are as follows for junior (up to 21 or 25 in full time education) and adult memberships respectively:
3 month award period membership = £23.25/£90
6 month award period membership = £46.50/180
12 month award period membership = £93/360
Once this has completed, we hope participants will continue to fly as a normal full member, building on the skills and attributes developed over their skills membership period.
